Modeling the Torso and Pelvis. [1/3]

Grab the top ring of splines on the leg and extrude them upwards several times, rotating them until they reach 90 degrees and are even with the center divider.

Take the ring of splines along the center and scale them in X to 0 so that they're completely straight, place them perfectly on the divider.

Select a spline next to one of the center CPs, it should be a spline which leads into the leg and not the spline ring you just shrank. (see pic, yellow bias handle is pointing inwards)

With it selected, press the / key to select the rest of the leg. Right-Click and perform a Copy-Flip-Attach.

You should end up with this. If they're not perfectly joined start connecting splines and CPs until they are.

Select the top few CPs and delete them. Delete any hanging splines that may appear after the deletion until you're left with a nice clean hole.

Select the CPs that make up the hole, it might help if you hide everything else for the next part.

From the top view

Create a new ring of splines with the same amount of CPs and place it around your older ring.

Connect the 2 rings to each other with small splines and move them next to each other.

If you havent already, move that new spline ring up above the older one. The model should look something like this now.

Extrude 1 or 2 more times if you want/need to, start grabbing points and pushing them into the shape desired.

The crotch area looks hideous at the moment, grab the CPs as shown in the image to the left.

Note: at the very center where the CPs are packed tightest I'm actually only grabbing every other CP, you need to leave at least a few there.

After you delete there will be a bunch of hanging useless splines, delete them all.

Start filling in the gaps with 5 pt. patches and hooks. I circled some problem areas where 5 splines are connected to 1 cp. This usually results in nasty creases.

Here's a closeup on the problem area, delete the center CP.

I rebuilt the spline cross going left to right and up/down, the 5th spline now intersects another section of the spline and ends with a hook.
