Finishing Up
 | |
Import a sphere, place it in the eye socket. Copy/Flip it over to the other side.
|
 | |
Select the top CPs from the spline ring surrounding the eye.
|
 | |
Extrude up once to form eyelashes.
|
 | |
Use your ruler guides and mark where the center of your eye is.
|
 | |
Apply your eyeball texture using the guides.
|
 | |
Looking good.
|
 | |
Dont forget to name your stamps, always helps to stay organized.
|
 | |
Select the ring which makes up the inside of the mouth.
|
 | |
Extrude in and out and form a cavity. Close it off when done.
|
 | |
Do the same for the eye sockets and nostrils.
|
 | |
Eyebrows are easy. Draw a spline, extrude, shape. Place.
|
 | |
Now to start on the hair. First I like to select a large portion of the skull (not too large)
|
 | |
Copy/Paste it, and set its color slightly darker than what you will color the rest of your hair.
With a skullcap in place even if you have gaps in your characters wig you wont see through to skin.
|
 | |
Create a strand of hair like so.
|
 | |
Bend it into shape and place on the skull.
|
 | |
You might want to consider extruding out the outside spline like this and coloring the outer part dark. No reason, I just think it looks good :P
|
 | |
Copy, paste, position, repeat.
|
 | |
If you're aiming to create an anime'ish character you might want to dump the more realistic nose and put in a triangular one.
Scale in the bias handles to give it a sharper point. It will make the toon line read better.
Enlarge the eyes a bit too.

All Done!
Ok I did forget to do ears, but I usually cover that area with hair so I dont bother. (plus they're really hard to model!)
I set some skin and bodysuit colors and toon settings for this pic, I'll get to all that later in another section.

Here's an anime version of her. The face and shoulders have been re-worked and the limbs are thinner and less muscular.
