Modeling the leg.
 | |
Hi, welcome to the beginning of my toon tutorial. I'm trying to be create a thorough modeling tutorial,
but you still need to be familiar with the Animation Master interface to follow along. So if you can't create splines,
lathe and attach hooks I suggest you do the tutorials in the Animation Master manual then come back when you're ready!
To get things started create a spline running top to bottom with several CPs in between.
(more around where you want the knee to be) Don't keep things too dense tho.
|
 | |
Select your spline, set your pivot point to 0 and Lathe to create a cylinder. (8 pt lathe is fine)
|
 | |
Move your cylinder to the right of the green center divider and start scaling and moving the points to match that of a leg.
If you have a rotoscope NOW is the time to use it! It helps immensely! I actually used a nice rotoscope I scanned
from the Danger Girl Sketchbook, I'd like to post
the scans but I dont feel like being sued. :( But scan some of your own, draw your own, whatever you need to do.
|
 | |
Now start shifting the points around to try and mimic musculature and bones. Turn on Bias Handles and start tugging away until
it looks right!
|
 | |
If you need to add some new splines to do it, that's fine. Here I added a new spline to accentuate a muscle, ended it with a hook. Dont go spline crazy tho, try to keep your mesh as light as you can.
|
 | |
Keep tweaking til you get results you're happy with.
|
 | |
Select the bottom spline ring and extrude, keep extruding it and rotate as you go along forming a foot.
|
 | |
Cap off the end of the foot and push the splines around until it looks like a foot. (No toes on my character, she's wearing a spandex bodysuit'ish thing)
